Action for Autism (AFA) is a not-for-profit that has pioneered the autism movement in South Asia. AFA’s mission is to facilitate the empowerment of persons with autism and their families; and to act as a catalyst for change that enables persons with autism to live as fully participating members of the community. Established in 1991, AFA’s services are designed as models for replication, thereby reaching out to far larger numbers than would otherwise be possible. Over the 25 years of our existence, AFA has impacted policy, initiated early identification, catalysed educational inclusion, promoted the demystification of professional knowledge, and facilitated parents to become change makers.
Action For Autism is looking for an experienced fundraising manager with excellent leadership skills and networking abilities. The fundraising manager will be responsible for building good relationships with prospective donors and clients across multiple sectors, communicating with the broader public and internal teams, delegating tasks, and drawing up plans to ensure annual targets are met. You should be well organized, proactive and should be able to take initiatives.
Job Description
- Develop a comprehensive strategy for fundraising for Action for Autism (AFA)
- Work towards delivering on ambitious goals
- Structure and execute a robust fundraising strategy that focuses on partnerships with multiple stakeholders and brand alignment.
- Develop a comprehensive strategy to build relationships with stakeholders to build brand recognition and develop a pipeline of potential investors from corporates, government, HNIs, Retail, Foundations, Home offices, and other channels.
- Build key donor relationships, identify business opportunities, negotiations and close funding deals
- Approach Indian celebrities and/or their management to garner support for AFA’s campaigns and maintain database of celebrity supporters;
- Develop channels for a growing pipeline of retail donations
- Develop growing pipeline of donations through the website
- Liaise with trusts, government agencies, corporates and other bodies that could potentially make grants to the organization
10. Arrange and manage targeted fundraising events
11. Develop media and materials to and communicate with existing donors and stakeholders
12. Recruit and manage sponsors, volunteers, and participants for a fundraising project/event
13. Supervise and coordinate with outreach campaigners across the country to implement face to face and tele facing fundraising strategies
14. Prepare regular reporting on fundraising progress
15. Exploring and contracting work opportunities for people with autism in the target segment for fundraising
16. Perform any other duties assigned by the Leadership Team.
Qualifications & Requirements :
1.Graduate from a recognised institution, with minimum of 8 years of work experience in Sales/ Business Development, or Post Graduate with a minimum of 5 years of work experience
2.Excellent written and verbal communication skills including public speaking
3.Excellent presentation skills
4.Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
5.Creative and proactive
6.Knowledge of online and social media platforms and comfort in using them to spread the organisational message
7.Willingness and comfort to interact with HNIs and top management of corporates and other institutions
8.Highly organised with strong project management skills
9.Strong team working orientation, with the ability and social skills to work collaboratively with staff at all levels
10.Sound knowledge of the charity sector.
