ABOUT PFI

The Population Foundation of India (PFI) is a national non-government organization at the forefront of policy advocacy and research on population, health and development issues in the country. PFI leads advocacy efforts and works as a think-tank dedicated to promoting and advocating effective formulation and implementation of gender sensitive population, health and development policies, strategies, and programs in the country. Policy advocacy, social and behavior change communication, community action and knowledge management are some of the key strategies that PFI works on to achieve the organization’s goals.

Over the years, PFI has played a catalytic role to address issues relating to gender equality, women empowerment and other social determinants. PFI is committed to serving the economically weak and marginalized sections of society in the high priority districts (HPDs) with poor socio-health-demographic indicators.

Job Description: Analyst- Youth and Adolescence 

Responsible to: Programme Lead

 Location:            Delhi

Job Function:    Project Management

Purpose: To be responsible for supporting the strategic engagement under Adolescent and Youth programmess of Population Foundation of India 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Map key stakeholders in the ecosystem

  • Map, create and maintain a repository of  key stakeholders in adolescent health

Support advocacy with key stakeholders 

  •  Provide support to devise and implement advocacy strategy to ensure political prioritization of adolescent health issues
  • Support relationship building with advocacy partners 
  • Coordination with various stakeholders including relevant government departments 

Advocacy engagement

  • Support implementation of Adolescent Health and Wellbeing project in Delhi in collaboration with the Population Foundation team

Knowledge hub (KH)

  • Identify potential clients in education or development sector for Educately and build professional relationship with identified decision makers of the education sector, educationists or teachers.
  • Drive regular engagement (through different mediums) with enrolments to build retention and ensure course completions.
  • Tie up and engage with schools/ institutions/orgnisaiotn for driving enrolments on Educately

Other activities

  • Support in organizing meetings, workshops, dissemination meetings, post-meeting follow up.
  • Work with the knowledge management team in developing advocacy materials and knowledge products on adolescent health and well-being
  • Help develop project implementation plans and ensure compliance with milestones and deadlines
  • Support team in preparing annual donor reporting
  • Any other work mutually discussed and agreed upon with the supervisor
  • Coordinate contracts, vendor management, etc.

  • Meet deadlines for deliverables
  • Timely reporting 
  • Ensure completion of project deliverables as per project timelines. 
  • Coordination with departments / agencies / stakeholders
  • Provide support in coordination with senior officials and policymakers
  • Provide support to facilitate meetings, training, events, etc.
  • Draft donor reports, progress reports and other project-related documents.
  • Identify potential partners for KH
  • Presenting Educately to key decision makers for partnerships
  • Tie up and engage with schools/group of institution

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Masters’ Degree in Social work or equivalent qualification with minimum 3 years of experience.
  • At least 2-3 years of experience in advocacy programmes in the development sector. 
  • Experience in SRH/adolescent development domain will be preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Hindi
  • Understanding of Government health systems at national and state levels
