About the Organization
Deepalaya started in 1979 with 7 founding members with the objective of educating the underprivileged girl children. Over the years, our focus has expanded from providing education only to children, to helping underprivileged women, youth and children become self-reliant through education and vocational training.
Today, we are Deepalaya as the largest operational NGO and have established projects across Delhi, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Telangana.
The NGO for more than three decades has been contributing to the crusade against illiteracy. “Every child deserves a chance is what Deepalaya strongly believes in and has been working towards it.
Over the years, Deepalaya has established several projects in the areas of Education (Formal/Non-Formal/Remedial), Women Empowerment (reproductive health, SHG, Micro-finance), Institutional care, Community health, Vocational training, and Differently Abled. These projects are operational in Delhi, Haryana, Uttarakhand, and Uttar Pradesh.
Job Description/Responsibilities
will work closely with the Chief Executive and Senior Management Team to develop strategies for effective communication and resource mobilization for the growth and diversification of the organization.
Strategic Leadership: The incumbent would be responsible for providing strategic leadership in handling the portfolio assigned. He/she would be responsible for carrying out the duties assigned in a manner as envisaged in the vision and mission of Deepalaya. He/she would be coordinating with all departments for developing mechanisms and putting in place those systems essential for effective communication and fund mobilization.
Resource Management: Being a leader of the senior management team, the responsibility of the incumbent would be to find and acquire resources from corporates/sponsors for the implementation of Deepalaya’s programs. He/she would create an environment of trust and openness between corporates/ individuals and the organization. Responsibilities under the same would entail: –
- Preparing proposals for various programs and presenting them to the corporates/ sponsors.
- Anticipating future funding restrictions and adopt strategies to avoid fund shortage.
Director – Resource Mobilization would be broadly acting as a link between Deepalaya and fund providers. He/she would be required to give managerial insights to the Senior Management Team. In tune with the strategic plan, the incumbent is expected to review the progress achieved and take up tasks which remain to be accomplished.
Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience
- Masters in Social Work or relevant field. About 8 years of experience in Resource Mobilization in social development sector.
- Comprehensive understanding of socially deprived vulnerable sections of society and their empowerment and inclusion
- Excellent leadership abilities
- Great communication skills, including the ability to represent the organization at various forums and events;
- Strong analytical & decision-making and convincing skills
- Be innovative and do multi-tasking effectively
- Being Computer savvy
